Doctor of Physical Therapy Cost to Attend

UMMC's Office of Student Accounting maintains tuition and fees, including information about SHRP programs such as the entry-level professional doctor of physical therapy degree program. Students should review the tuition tables on the Student Accounting website for additional information regarding tuition, fees, and related expenses.

As stated in the UMMC Bulletin, the Medical Center reserves the right to increase or modify tuition and fees without prior notice subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.

Computer/electronic devices

Students are required to have a laptop computer and external webcam with microphone to enter the academic program. Course content will be available electronically, and computer based testing may be used.   The following requirements should be met in order to ensure that the computer meets minimum standards to function with UMMC platforms:

  • Windows 10 (2004, 20H2, or 21H1) or newer OR Mac OS X Catalina (10.15) or newer;
  • WiFI connection;
  • Modern browser such as the latest Chrome, Firefox, or Safari Internet Explorer/Edge; and
  • Must run a modern and updated anti-virus software.
  • Screen resolution of at least 1280 x 768

 We do not recommend any thin client devices such as Chromebooks or Google books.

Travel to off-campus clinical rotations

Students are required to travel to off-campus clinical education experiences. Therefore, students should be prepared to provide their own transportation, housing accommodations, and other living expenses during these clinical affiliations. Please note that all students must go out of state for at least one eight-week clinical education experience, and out of the Jackson metropolitan area for another. Students should begin planning accordingly early in academic program.

Withdrawal/tuition refunds

Please note that the Doctor of Physical Therapy program is designed to be sequential. All entering cohorts will move through the lock-step curriculum together. Students are not allowed to withdraw from a single class without withdrawing from the entire program. When a student becomes interested in withdrawing from the program, the UMMC Bulletin provides details regarding the withdrawal policy and related tuition refunds. Additionally, withdrawal dates are highlighted on the academic calendar provided on the School of Health Related Professions webpage.
